Welcome to Abingdon Primary School
Welcome to Abingdon Primary School & Family Hub. We are a Foundation school within Middlesbrough local authority and also a member of the Middlesbrough Co-operative Learning Trust. Our vision is to make an inclusive community that supports the well-being of every child and their family to enhance enjoyment, raise achievement and aspiration for all, and ensure children and their families are supported through their learning journey from birth through school life in pursuit of excellent. We are a much larger than average sized primary school with 91% of the children speaking English as an Additional Language with over 40 languages spoken within school. We are proud to be a school of sanctuary and all pupils and visitors are made to feel welcome. High quality staff are committed to ensure children make the most progress they can in every area of school. Our motto is ‘Believe in Achieving’ as we want every child to fulfil their potential and aspire to be their own unique best version of themselves. We have high expectations and aspirations of all our pupils and aim to make every school day count!
Aspirations, Resilience, Commitment and Harmony (ARCH) are our core principles that are woven through everything we do and indeed everyday life at Abingdon. Children strive towards receiving ARCH points for displaying these principles in their work, play, sport and friendships.
At Abingdon an emphasis is placed on developing our pupils to be a good neighbours. A good neighbour is someone who is kind, thoughtful, considerate, compassionate and respectful. These traits are encouraged and reinforced to equip our students to fit seamlessly into society.
I hope you enjoy looking at our website and it gives you a flavour of our wonderful school and Family Hub.
